Summary

Supervises shift in Security Shift Manager’s absence (i.e., assigned days off, in training, PTO, call-offs, FMLA, etc.).  Assists Security Shift Manager when both are on duty by overseeing floor activity, freeing up the Shift Manager to do scheduling, reviews, etc.  The Security Shift Supervisor helps to provide for a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and company assets.  Supervises security staff on assigned shift.  Directs staff and assists in the handling of incidents and emergencies.  Summons police/fire/medical agencies as needed.  Follows all gaming regulations, oversees required drops.  May schedule employees and assign tasks.  Provides input on performance for performance evaluations to Shift Manager and Director.

Essential Functions

  • • 1+ years of Casino Security experience and/or or equivalent supervisor/manager experience.
  • • Competent Knowledge of Department Polices & Procedures and Internal Controls and continues to stay up to date.
  • • Competent Knowledge and response to Fire Panel/Fireworks Computer and various alarm states.
  • • Performs 1st Aid, CPR, AED and Maintains Current Certification.
  • • Provides exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • • Leads subordinates to provide exceptional guest service to internal/external guests.
  • • Supervises security personnel during assigned shift.
  • • Manages shift to provide for a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and company assets in the absence of the shift manager.
  • • Directs staff and assists in the handling of incidents and emergencies.  
  • • Summons police/fire/medical agencies as needed.
  • • Follows all gaming regulations.  
  • • Ensures all necessary documentation is completed, from daily activity logs to incident reports.
  • • Oversees required drops.  
  • • Schedules employees as necessary based upon activities during assigned shift.
  • • Assigns daily tasks to officers.
  • • Assists Lead/Field Training Officers in coordination of training.  
  • • Provides input on performance evaluations to Shift Manager and/or Director.
  • • Coaches employees for improvement and relays such issues to Shift Manager/Director.
  • • Administers discipline as needed for minor infractions and relays such issues to Shift Manager/Director.
  • • Provides input on performance for performance reviews and progressive discipline plans (PDP’s) in cooperation with Shift Manager and Director. May assist in conducting performance reviews at the discretion of the Director.
  • • Responsible for maintaining departmental stats in cooperation with other Supervisors, Shift Manager and Director.
  • • Responsible for assisting in proper documentation and logging of Lost & Found in cooperation with assigned staff by the Director.
  • • Upholds company rules, gaming regulations, and laws.
  • • Develops personnel & motivates staff.
  • • May be required to work overtime and various shift schedules on a rotating basis.
  • • May be required to participate in “Caught In Act” Program Monthly Meetings in the absence those delegated by Director.
  • • Special projects as assigned.
  • • Other duties as assigned.
